Fenwick Girls Varsity Tennis Update

The girls’ varsity tennis team is off to a great start, but is still looking forward to what the post season has to offer. With just a few weeks left, the Friars are gearing up for the most crucial weeks in their season.
The girls started their season off strong and undefeated, until running into John Burroughs School from St. Louis. This defeat only made their comeback stronger, and against even better teams. In Conference matches, the girls are also undefeated, setting them up well for the postseason in conference and beyond. As Coach Sullivan puts it best, “There have been and will be impressive results, but they are more concerned with how they play. The results will take care of themselves.”
Even though tennis is mostly an independent sport, the Friars’ love, motivation, teamwork, and comradery brings everyone together. With seniors Maeve Paris and Kate Trifilio leading the team, both loudly and quietly, the girls’ success hasn’t been done alone. Each and every Friar on this team has been key to what has been accomplished so far. Every match, every set, and every cheer counts.
With a few more nail biting, frigid weeks left, the Friars are preparing to end another season strong.
Senior Maeve Paris says, “We are not finished yet and we can’t wait to see how far we go this season.”

UPDATE: The Girls Varsity Tennis Team won the State Championship!
