Christmastime has arrived, and what better way to celebrate the season than enjoying classic holiday movies? Holiday traditions often consist of classic films families enjoy to make their celebration more meaningful. No matter if one is laughing at Buddy the Elf’s humor or tearing up at George Bailey’s journey through “It’s A Wonderful Life,” these Christmas movies are sure to bring about the holiday cheer within many!

“A Christmas Story” is known to be one of the most popular Christmas films. Almost everyone knows Ralphie’s dream Christmas gift—a Red Rider BB Gun! This funny film has stood the test of time, as people today still cannot hold back tears of laughter when watching Ralphie and little Randy bundled up in the cold. Although depicting a satirical celebration of commercialism, “A Christmas Story” reveals how family is truly what matters in the end. This movie indicates that family is the meaning of the season, and the true gift is spending quality time with loved ones.

In addition to “A Christmas Story”, “Elf” is a film which keeps people smiling. Everyone knows that the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear! Buddy the Elf sets out on a quest to find his father, but he finds much more on his journey. Buddy enlightens his family and many in New York City to embrace the holiday spirit and truly believe in Santa Clause! This film shows that Christmas cheer truly has the power to unite people and enlighten the hearts of many.

“Charlie Brown Christmas” is a film that will always remain a classic. Linus’ speech about the true meaning of Christmas is a wonderful way to simply explain the story of Christ’s birth, helping to keep Christ in Christmas.

“It’s A Wonderful Life” is another movie which shows the beauty to Christmastime. George Bailey finds out the true meaning to life as he sees Angel Gabriel appear to him. These films both display the beauty of the holiday season and how Christmas is a time to reflect upon one’s life and enjoy time with those who matter within our lives.

Overall, Christmas movies help people embrace the holiday season. Christmas is not only a time to sing and celebrate, but also a time to be thankful and appreciative.
