Mother’s Day is one of the only days in the year that gives us the opportunity to give back to the amazing women in our lives. Likewise, all of Fenwick should take the time to celebrate all mothers in the community who support the students and their own children.
Mothers are often considered the backbone of families. They support and nurture their children in ways only a mother can. At Fenwick, this is best represented by the Mothers’ Club, a group of Fenwick mothers who take the time to help students and faculty by planning fundraisers and events to give them opportunities they otherwise would not have. The Vice-President of the Mother’s Club, Mrs. Rachel Entler, described the goals of The Mother’s Club as, “Providing opportunities for service, fellowship, spiritual growth, student enrichment and faculty and staff appreciation within the Fenwick Community.” The Mother’s Club demonstrates the main reason we take the day to celebrate them. They do their very best to support their children and make Fenwick the best experience possible. Mother’s Day is an opportunity to appreciate everything that our mothers do to take care of us. They spend an ineffable amount of time ensuring our happiness and on May 12, we have the opportunity to give back to our mothers.
Mother’s Day this year should be spent giving back and recognizing the women in our lives. Mother’s Day is an important and sentimental day to show our love for them. Mrs. Rachel Entler said that Mother’s Day, to her, is a day to, “Recognize the women who play a major role in providing love and nurturing in my life and the lives of those I love.” So, spend this Mother’s Day appreciating your mother and the ones around us.
