Fans of Harry Styles and Selena Gomez are excited to see that each artist has recently released new music, accompanied by new music videos as well.
Styles’ electrifying and innovative single, “Lights Up,” debuted as No. 17 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. Fans panicked as Styles released a new song and music video in the span of minutes. The sound of this new single is much different than Styles’ extremely popular first single, “Sign of the Times.” The ex-One Direction star ditched the classic rock sound for a much more experimental tune. On November 4, he announced his new album, titled Fine Line, as well as a concert at the Forum in Inglewood, California on December 13, a debut performance for the album. Fine Line is Styles’ second album, following his self-titled album Harry Styles, which was released in 2017.
Selena Gomez released two songs, “Lose You to Love Me” and “Look at Her Now.” The former, released on October 21, is an emotional ballad that received 38.4 million streams in its first week, topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Fans believe this song alludes to Gomez’s on-and-off relationship with Justin Bieber. The following day, Gomez released the upbeat tune of “Look at Her Now,” followed by a music video later that night. Gomez sings, “Took a few years/ To soak up the tears/ But look at her now/ Watch her go,” lyrics that reflect the song’s empowering aspect. Compared to Gomez’s other recent release, “Look at Her Now” received noticeably fewer streams, racking up 8.8 million streams in its first full week.
Fans of Harry Styles and Selena Gomez alike are anxiously awaiting announcements for upcoming tour dates, but until then, will be streaming these songs nonstop.
